Yeah I gotta admit I use notepad or notepad ++ in widnows if I need to edit things but I don’t do this a lot these days.

Hi, I usually just use TextEdit in text mode, which probably doesn't help you much. Most of the text apps weren't particularly accessible in the past, so I just got used to making due. I'm not in the HTML coding environment enough lately to need anything else, but that's just my use-case environment. Later... I started looking at Panic's coda editor because it appears to have been installed on my work computer. I was able to review Markup code but I didn't really get a chance to experiment. I have also heard somebody recommend Visual Studio Code from Microsoft, which is supposed to run on Mac, Linux and Windows. I have no idea how large VSCode is but they certainly have documentation on how to access functionality with the keyboard. I also once talked with the developers of Ulysses for Mac<http://geni.us/GG8F> they indicated the application appeared to work fine with VoiceOver. I believe it uses subscription based pricing after the first two weeks of use. What tools and approaches have you found most useful as a screen reader user? My personal approach is less than optimal, which is how this question came forward at this time. I'm personally a died in the wool vim user, but it can be difficult to understand and properly edit content in the midst of markup tags, even in a markdown environment. Perhaps there are vim tricks I could be better at? I'm aware that emacspeak actually offers some advantages here--but is that the current best practice? Thanks in advance for sharing your approach.
