Hello Hank, Are you certain that you do not want the Mac to go to sleep upon closing the lid?
Were I you, I would not want the screen to remain active when in physical contact with the keyboard. The heat buildup could cause damage to the unit and, in fact, may become a fire hazard if the ambient temperature is too high. For your safety and the safety of the unit, I strongly recommend that you either don't close the lid or, continue to let closing the lid, put the Mac to sleep. There is a definite reason why having the Mac go to sleep is the default behavior of the OS.
