Hi, The difference between Clamshell or PowerNap sorts of conditions are different than not allowing the Mac to sleep. These are controlled instances where specific processes are allowed and others are disabled. Items like backlight and such are disabled during these processes whereas keeping the Mac totally awake could be problematic in my opinion.
