Hi Mark, This feature has been a part of the MacOS since the inception of MacOS X Cheetah, and may even have been available in MacOS 9, although I can't be certain at this point. Back in Tiger and Leopard, I used to use this feature to print out Word documents to pdf. It was my workaround to be able to read Word documents before TextEdit gained that ability. Printing it to pdf allowed me to read the Word document in Preview. It wasn't editable, but was at least readable.

I need to be able to click a print button that is embedded on a website and have a virtual printer be listed in my list of printers.
