There is a utility that can be used in terminal to show fan speed and cpu temp 
and battery status.  These can be shown for each or all
desired information.

Once you download and unzip it put it in the appplications folder.

Do istats fan for number of fans and speed only.

Do istats alone to get all information.

Do istats -h to get the usage information for all functions.
