Nice. While the buttons aren't labeled I could start and stop playback and mute, unlike in the flash player. To save a step, you have to opt-in for the html5 version by going to this page:

http://www.youtube.com/html5

and then find the text that says Join the HTML5 Beta and hit return. That drops a cookie in your browser telling youtube to surface all your videos with the HTML5 video player instead of flash. Nice.
