I had done that and everything was moved out of the iTunes Media
folder, very messy. So I did a restore, redownloaded the TV shows and
got the same result.
Everything went fine when iTunes was pointed to the iTunes Media
folder. I don't know what I may have changed after installing Mojave and
I ended up pointing to the iTunes folder to resolve something else.
Strange because I have done perhaps 3-4 clean installs.

could go under the File menu in iTunes, down to Library, then right and
down to Organize Library. See if that cleans things up for you.
