Hi Listers,
I recently switched all of my email accounts to IMAP from POP3 and for
the most part, things are working nicely. I am having one problem, however:
I use both a PC running Windows 7 and a Mac Book. On the PC side of
things, I am using the latest version of Thunderbird as my email client
and on the Mac side, I use the Mail program that came with Snow Leopard.
On the PC side of things, all of my Macvisionaries messages are placed
in a folder called "Macvisionaries." I created this folder on the PC.
On the Mac side of things, however, all of my Macvisionaries messages
remain in my inbox. It was my understanding that no matter which
computer I used to create a new folder and filter rule, IMAP would
automatically cause the changes to be reflected on the other system
since all of the messages remain on the server. I am wondering why the
Macvisionaries messages remain in my Mac's inbox but not on the PC.
I do have other folders and other filter rules that are working fine on
both systems.
Any help that anyone could supply would be truly appreciated.
Best regards,
Mike
P.S. Is there a how-to for getting it right with creating filter rules
in the Mail program?
