Ahh I see. Quick Nav can do weird things though.

Hi,
Ah thanks for looking at it. Well my VO isn't saying "window" much
either - but saying "unknown" when I move around inside the table.
I use Quick Nav a fair bit because things are pretty inefficient for
me without it as I can only use one hand and rely on sticky keys.
Thanks,
Catherine

Catherine,
I fooled around in the app. When I first open it, VO says 'Clean My
Mac window'. That is really the only time I hear 'window'. I changed
verbosity settings which had no effect. I avoid Quick Nav most times. Up
and down arrows and tab seem to be all I need. I cannot think what else
to look at.

Hi,
Ah thanks for the info. Well I've made some progress in that, inside
the first table, if I have Quick Nav off and just arrow up and down it
successfully moves through the table but VO still just keeps saying
"unknown". But after I move in that table, then get out of it I'm
able to read the explanation of what I've selected in the table so
I'll be able to use it - I just feel disappointed because in
CleanMyMac 3 I was able to read every part of the screen. Are you
saying that you are able to read the items in that table?
Thanks,
Catherine

Catherine,
I've been running CMM X since just before Mojave.
Voiceover works fine. I think the confusion lies with navigation
which seems not to be consistent. Try using just arrow keys and tab key.
Depending on which tool you select, there may be 2 or 3 windows. The
first one contains the tools. Most times I run the smart scan which the
app opens to so I VO-end to the scan button then again when it finishes,
VO-end to the run button ti di the clean up.

Hi,
Until recently I used CleanMyMac to clean up my system but it prompted
me a few times to try the new CleanMyMac x and today I tried the
latter. But I'm having problems reading the screen. When it opened
there were two windows open - one of which had a table in it among
other things. In the old CleanMyMac 3 there was a table containing
various cleanup tools, I would choose one from the table and press
"scan". But in CleanMyMac x VO was unable to read the items in the
table - just kept saying "unknown". I looked at the other window and
in that there was just a "scan" button which I pressed, thinking maybe
after it had scanned VO would be able to read the items in the table.
It finished scanning but still I wasn't able to read the items in that
table and basically I'm not sure what to do next and would want to
know what I'm going to delete before I do so.
There is a button saying something like "unlock full version" so I'm
wondering if maybe those items in the table are disabled until you buy
it.
Is anyone using CleanMyMac x and are you able to read those items in
the table? Does anyone recall trying out the product and whether you
were able to read the table then? I don't want to buy it if I can't
read everything. Perhaps I don't need to worry about the table - if
anyone's using CleanMyMac x could you describe how you go about using
it?
Thanks,
Catherine
