Daisy / EPub are just HTML with a few extra roles and tags then a web page. One can also include in either ePub or Daisy a audio track that is synchronized with the text or outline using a hthat is XML based. I believe the best resources for discovering about Daisy is daisy.org<http://daisy.org> and I did not see any Macintosh references when I quickly review the site.
