Hi, You've done your research, and that's the best thing you can do in this sort of situation. As you've so aptly mentioned, nothing is immune from infection, and if you feel that an anti-malware solution would help, then that is best for you. There are many methods by which you can protect yourself, and you've chosen one of them.

I appreciate the recommendations for antivirus software for the Mac, but I also appreciate hearing from those of you who feel such software is unnecessary. My concern over the possible susceptibility of Macs to harmful invasions is prompted by recent articles in leading tech journals that suggest that Macs are becoming increasingly frequent targets, and that the notion that they are immune from threats is, in some cases, at least, a misguided one. I am not going to take issue with those on this forum with much more expertise than I when they say they don’t run such software. I recognize that doing so may in many cases be unnecessary and may even slow down machines. I have decided to update my ClamXAV package and now have a subscription, which is the only way one can continue to receive updates. There is also a new version, 3, which seems to work quite well with VoiceOver. I use this on work machines both mac and windows and also personal machines and have no issue with it in anyway. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>> On Behalf Of Craig Werner Sent: Wednesday, 20 February 2019 4:00 AM To: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Subject: Recommendations for Mac Antivirus Software Hello, everyone. I have been using ClamXAV for my Mac antivirus protection. Since ClamXAV has recently gone to a subscription-based pay plan and since the product is not gaining the best reviews from the tech sites I read, I wonder what list users recommend. I am looking for reliable detection, thorough cleaning and quarantining, and solid VoiceOver compatibility. Thank you for all help.
