Hi Mary, I also am a total blind user,
The screen size isn’t really an issue and the face ID I have on my phone being it’s an X, The gestures are fine knowing them already. The pro is still slightly More powerful with the a12x processor and the screen quality of the pro is much higher It’s mainly the size and portability of the mini that interests me as the power and memory is close enough for most people. Thanks for the thoughts, they are much appreciated. I have played with it with voiceover. That is certainly not the same as using it for a long period of time. It does seem quite snappy, way better than my old mini too, which isn’t surprising. I do like the home button. And I dislike the fact that the newer voiceover gestures are there. Of course, they are also on the pro, but I think that’s the pro with no home button? So you would need them there. The pro sounds better. That should be expected, since it has four speakers. My husband has a pro, but I’m not sure what size it is. It also has a home button. If I were going to buy one of these, I would get the mini, because it’s cheaper. It has a newer processor. I imagine it has less ram, but I don’t know. If I really wanted the sound, and if I had enough vision to enjoy the better display on the pro, then I would probably get the pro. But I have no vision, so that wouldn’t make any sense for me. If so how are you finding it for use? I’m still looking to purchase and trying to choose between the 11” pro and the new 2019 Mini! Pros an cons for both which is what’s making choices difficult. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
