Hi,

Normally, VoiceOver would be a part of that set, but you are able to change
which direction VO sound is going within the VO Utility. This is similar to
using a Bluetooth speaker. If VO sound is set to the System Default, then VO
will go through the Bluetooth speaker, whereas if it is set to Built-In audio,
then your VO goes through the internal speakers, and all other sound goes out
through the Bluetooth speaker. Unless the application supports AirPlay audio
itself, the sort of AirPlay outlined in the Google articles is the kind that is
meant for screen mirroring and such to Apple TV kinds of devices, not the
Airport Express. Even on the iPhone, there is AirPlay within specific apps
that allow for streaming sound only, but there is also the separate AirPlay
mirroring activity that will send both audio and video to an Apple TV. So,
basically, my understanding is that what you are trying to do is not
specifically possible from within a browser such as Safari, since it does not
have specific Airplay audio support as part of the Safari application. Safari
cannot send audio to an Airport Express, it would be the system AirPlay process
streaming media to the Apple TV kind of device. The AirFoil app that was
suggested may do this nicely, although I haven't used it in quite a while to be
able to confirm any details. AirFoil is developed by Rogue Amoeba which also
developed Audio Hi-Jack Pro and most of their software is very accessible. It
may be worth a test of their free version before deciding on a purchase.

I had planned to send it to a stereo which has an airport express connected and
on the same network as the Mac. This wouldn’t be video. Just audio from the
Primephonic music service. I could also try my HomePods. I was hoping to be
able to send it into places at once and to have VoiceOver stay on the Mac like
it does on the iPhone, and like it did on the Mac on iTunes. So maybe it does,
but both articles I saw said that absolutely every sound from the Mac goes out
to whatever you were airplay device is. And one of them was from Apple.
