Hi,

These work more or less normally for me.  Sometimes, messages take a little 
extra time to sync, especially when messing with changing phone numbers in 
group conversations, but works as it should in time.  Contacts don't always 
sync immediately, but will within less than one minute after opening the app.  
If you have messages syncing to iCloud, then I suggest that you turn iMessages 
off on the iPhone, restart the iPhone, then re-enable the iMessages service.  
Because things are synced to iCloud, you shouldn't lose anything.  Similarly, 
you can do this on each of your other devices including your Mac if things 
don't fix themselves after doing it on the iPhone.  A simple restart will not 
suffice, it seems like the resources connected with the iMessage service need a 
reset, which is done by kind of resetting the service as I mentioned.
