Hi,
I do have the Beats X, but I would not find it
useful in my work to be wearing headphones all
the time in order to fix this problem. I do
appreciate all the suggestions though.

Hi,
I believe Shawn hit the nail on the head. I
don't use AirPods, and therefore don't see that
item within Notification settings. Thanks for trying.

I haven’t„¢t weighed in on this thread,
because I do not experience unwanted message notifications during calls.
Not long after I got my first iPhone, in the
days of iOS 5, I quickly learned that having
my incoming messages automatically read
aloud by VoiceOver for all the world to hear
was not something I wanted. So, I went into
VoiceOver settings, found the setting for
"Always Speak Notifications", and disabled this feature.
Since doing this, I haven̢۪t given this issue another thought.

Hi!
I actually don̢۪t havhave this problem of
VoiceOver reading the message when i am on a call.
But i use to lock the screen when i am talking to someone.
But it should be fixed in a more reliable way.

Hi,
Thanks Petrus. Yes, that would work in the
meantime. I believe that it needs to be
addressed by Apple though as some sort of
automation or setting. I have done that a
time or two, but usually forget until I'm
in the middle of a call and a text message comes in reading itself.

Tim,
As I was going for my morning walk I had an
idea. You could always do a three finger
double tap on the screen after you answer a
call to mute VoiceOver, so you are
effectively sticking a sock in its
mouth. And you just need to repeat the gesture once you end the call.

I cannot speak directly to managing
this on your device, but my flip has a
separate setting for managing text and e related message notifications.

Yes, you are correct in that it will
