A long shot. You can export your VO settings in Voiceover Utility
from the menu bar then reset to defaults. If you still experience issues
you can easily restore those settings simply by doing a command down on
the file you exported.

Yes, I have looked there, and have even hidden some. I have my usual
Mail, Calendar, Messages and then my network volumes Mac Backup
connected to my Apple Airport Extreme, and three ASB volumes on my
Windows PC.
Those PC volumes might be the next thing I’ll try to completely disable.
