Must have missed it during activation. But have now got it talking with help of sighted person. I'm starting to wish I hadn't gotten rid of my iphone now. It's just such a cool toy.

You can also with sighted assistance configure the setting from the iPod by going to settings, general, accessibility, and then VOiceOver. Hopefully that will get you started.
