I would be interested in the answer to this question as well.
I know that on Windows, there is a folder/directory where audio files can be
placed so they can be used for various notifications such as for a new/incoming
mail notifications alert sound. On Windows, this location is: C:\Windows\Media.
Surely there is a similar way of doing this on a Mac.

Hi all,
I know I asked about this a while ago when I was still on Mojave, but I was
hoping there might be an easier way now with Catalina? I have quite a few cool
Star Trek alert tones on my iPhone that I use for incoming and outgoing emails
and text messages. But the selection of alert tones on the Mac is very limited
and I was wanting to use the same sounds that I use on my email app on the
phone. I purchased all of my alert tones and ring tones through the iTunes
Store. Someone told me a way that I could put the tones on to my Mac but it
wasn’t easy and I got very confused. So I was hoping there might be an easy way
now that I’m on Catalina.
The standard alert tones for the message app are all available, so there are
more choices but it would still be nice to be able to use the ones that I
purchased through the iTunes Store.
Thanks,
Petrus
