   The ATV may be defective. It got very warm. Unplugged it a  while 
then tried again to see if it would come up. I didn't try opening 
Computers though. This morning it was very warm so will probably return 
it for a replacement.

"Follow Focus".  Seems more logical.  There are a few times when

still using an Apple TV 3?  If so, that might be part of the issue.
My son still uses an Apple TV 3 as well and finds that his media loads
rather slowly compared to my Apple TV 4 HD.  It may have to do with
processing speed within the devices.
