Hi Tim and others,
Success, My sighted helper was a bit more agreeable and took her time.
We googled the Brother printer and setting up wifi. They don’t seem to make
this very easy. She found a source that talked her through the layers on the
touch screen and she was finally able to enter the wifi password.
After that all devices found the printer and printed easily.
I didn’t need to really do anything else.
I did update my software on my Mac but I don’t think that had anything to do
with it. I also downloaded the brother printer app on my phone. It may be
useful to me but I don’t think it was needed to make the printer available as
other devices found it without the app.
I sure wish these devices had talking menus or at lease an app or computer
access that let us do all the functions from an accessible place.
Still, the tips here got me headed in the right direction and I was able to
quickly move past my attempt and into the next place to try.
I’m very appreciative of the info here.
And, a bonus is I should be able to use the printer from my other Mac.
Thanks folks.
