I use an external drive made by Western Digital (WD). The model I
have is not SSD but if I need to replace it, will look for SSD.
A new Mac with a large internal drive is certainly an option but a
budget killer. My library on an external drive is about 1.5 TB (music,
TV shows and movies), I do not notice any lag time on my Apple TV. And
no chance of losing it because I do weekly backups.

Hi,
My Music/itunes library’s growing & growing. I’d like to pick your brains as
to how to deal with it. Do I go an external drive way, or a very big SSD drive on
a new mac? I’m concerned that should I relocate my library onto an external drive
and it then develops a problem, I might lose everything? Also, does having a large
library on an external drive slow down the playback/quality? And if external
drive’s a solution, what drive? Pls be as generous in your opinions as this list
allows or else email offline.
thanks
