I read this article yesterday. It's the most informative commentary I've
found so far on Apple's strategy.
It also includes a virtualization solution supporting Linux (not sure
about Microsoft Windows, however). As I only run Mac OS and Mac software
on my Mac, I don't expect any downside to the new hardware from my
personal perspective. I expect the Homebrew developers will just
recompile all of their packages and patch anything that doesn't compile
for the 64-bit ARM architecture already.
