Hi Paul, While the video is playing, just hit command-i or choose it from the window menu. It will be in the general tab.
You are just using VLC to get the true address of the file so you can open it directly in Safari where you can download it. In the Safari download video as dialog, don’t try putting a suffix in the file name as it can cause problems. I’ve found it’s best to let Safari handle it.
