This is just my opinion others may feel differently. If you want the best computer go with the Mini. Most people are probably not going to notice a difference between the eighth or 10th generation Intel unless you're doing video editing or maxing out your computer. One thing I figured out with the Air is because of heating your computer throttles down and I got busy much more than I do on my pro or iMac. I think the Air is fine but is meant more for word processing and simpler tasks. As far as speed differences someone else will have to comment in real world scenarios!
