Correction: You do not go to Trackpad preferences to enable use of the Control key with 2-finger gesture to increase or decrease magnification. This is done by going to System Preferences > Accessibility, and selecting Zoom from the categories list. Here you will not only find an option for enabling use of the trackpad with 2-fingers for increasing magnification, but another option for enabling keyboard commands for increasing and decreasing magnification.

There is another option for increasing and decreasing magnification that involves using the trackpad, if you have one. This command is done by holding down the Control key, and dragging 2-fingers up or down on the trackpad. You will need to go to System Preferences > Trackpad to make sure this gesture is enabled. My problem is this when I go into the settings I am given the hot key to zoom in which is option command equals I am also given another hockey to zoom out but voiceover says not assigned and it’s not really working. Can anybody walk me through assigning a hotkey for a task, in this case zoom out. I would really appreciate any help.
