Mac OS X is built upon UNIX, so I am not surprised that you are having a few difficulties if you've never used a UNIX or Linux command line before. When you open a Terminal window, you start off in your home folder i.e. Sarah. Are you sure that the Solona folder is in your home folder? If so, try cd Solona, without a back slash. If a folder is directly beneath (or inside) the currently selected folder, you don't need it. You only need to use a back slash if you are looking to go deeper, i.e. cd Desktop back slash folder1 Hope this helps TC James, Lyn, Nash & Twinny > I'm trying to change to a directory in my home folder.
