I purchased my M1 MacBook Pro after using Windows since 1995 for the express purpose of leaving Windows and third party screen readers behind. I love Jaws and retired from teaching assistive technology in 2018 in order to go back to my chosen profession. I still have a seven year old Windows 10 Lenovo that updates. And occasionally I still have to go to it mostly I think because I still have not learned to do a certain task on the Mac. But I learn more every day. I do not use Alex and in fact cringe at his voice. I use Allison on my Mac, iPad and iPhone. I love having all four of my devices including my watch on the same environment. If the HomePod was as good as my Alexa was I would have them in every room as well. But they communicate with my Toshiba Fire TV very well so four now I’ll keep them. But I hope to never have to purchase another Windows machine or another subscription to Office. I am doing fine with the Mac, voiceover, and their native apps such as pages and mail. Merv
