Tim's right, but man oh man, you have to go digging with a long shovel
to find it. It's the line in the rather lengthy header section beginning
with "Original-address.
And this brings up another interesting point. Email lists that show
addresses of posters in the form "Steve Matzura via MacVisionaries" etc.
are doing their subscribers a disservice, or something's wrong with
somebody's DKIM or DMARC or something, because email address obfuscation
isn't supposed to succumb to simple header examination. It's just
supposed to scrub those addresses. What's wrong with this picture I wonder?

Hi Brad,
Well, two things to comment on. First, I used this method just now in
Big Sur and I can do exactly as I outlined and acquire your eMail
address, copy it, add you to VIP’s amongst other actions. Second, I
did check this prior to sending the note to the list and I was able to
get both Steve and Herbie’s addresses that were the original posters
in that thread.
I do recall others having difficulties with this action, and I’m not
sure why it’s happening to them, or you for that matter if you’re
experiencing the same results.

Tim, When using Apple’s Mail app on Big Sur, your email address can
not be obtained by the method you describe.
Your email address remains hidden.

Hi,
Off topic to the question, but eMail addresses are not necessarily
hidden.
• open a message by pressing return on it.
• navigate around the window until you hear “Message Headers” and
interact with it.
• navigate within the Message Header area and you should hear a
section that announces the sender’s name, the subject and the
recipient, as in MacVisionaries. Interact with this.
• navigate to the sender’s name and VO-space on it.
A menu should pop up with items such as Copy Address and the sender’s
actual address. There are still some situations where specific mail
clients keep this hidden, but I am able to determine most sender’s
eMail address using this method.

Since email addresses are hidden, so I can't ask privately, where do

What reasons do you have for hesitating? Th=e two big turnoffs that
I am aware of with these new Macs is lack of money and Window’s
support. The latter seems to be something you are willing to move
away from, but maybe you have other concerns. Personally, I would
love to play with one of these, but both are holdups for me since I
still rely on Window’s for broadcasting and the occasional editing
of documents.
