Hi,

It sounds like the computer is not properly assigning the Secure Token required 
on newer MacOS systems.  Is he ensuring that the user he creates on the Mac is 
an Administrator?  When working in an APFS system, you must have at least one 
Administrator account.

If the account is an Administrator, then it is possible that there’s something 
wonky with the Secure Enclave and/or the MacOS’s relationship between the OS 
and the T2 chip.
