An e-SIM may be an option in some cases, too. If you travel internationally,
obtaining a SIM card from a local carrier for the duration of your stay is
often better than paying what can in some circumstances be very heavy roaming
charges from your existing carrier.

Subject: Re: New iPhone locked or unlocked
So Brad,
I’m assuming that when you make the purchase, you select to have them transfer
your phone number (i.e. Sim card etc.) to the new phone and when you receive it
you then have to activate it with the carrier?

Maybe I got some bad info about it being locked to the carrier that way. Even
if it is I suppose it doesn’t matter if you’re happy with your current carrier.
Still trying to figure out what the advantage of buying an unlocked phone is,
Since if it isn’t locked then you could swap out Sim cards all day whether you
bought a phone with your number transferred or the “unlocked“ version.…
Probably going to buy a new phone well my money still has purchasing power.
Going from a 10r to 13. And I’ll most likely have them set it up for me.
