Hi,

You’ll also notice when in the Music app, within the AirPlay section, that you 
can control other devices too.  So, if your HomePods were playing music in 
another room, under the Control Other Devices section, you will see that the 
HomePods are playing and what they are playing.  VO-space on that item and your 
controls within the Music app will now be controlling the music on the HomePods.

Also, the benefit of this method in comparison to selecting through the Sound 
pane of System Prefs is latency.  I’ve heard from my sighted family that when 
watching movies or TV shows, if we select the sound path via System Prefs, the 
mouths don’t properly move with what they are saying.  This is fine for me, as 
I don’t see their mouths moving, but drives the sighted folks crazy.  Now, I 
don’t mind driving them crazy sometimes, but they might start moving the 
furniture around on me if I’m not nice to them.
