I’ll toss in something that has been consistent with VO recently. When entering user name and passwords on web pages (both Safari and Edge) there is a significant lag in speaking the titles to the edit fields.
I tab to the first field and type my user name. Then tab to the password field. VO speaks what I just typed, then the next field title, before indicating a blank field. It is irritating because it slows things down. There are other instances with VO where a ghost word or phrase is spoken. I open a text file in a folder. Then close it. Then Cmd+tab back to Finder. It reads the name of an adjacent folder before focusing on the list of files in a completely different folder. Again irritating, and slow response. So in summary I would say that VO is less responsive and slow to find focus than it used to be in earlier Mac OS versions. I’m on Ventura on a 2019 MacBook Pro.
