You'll need to get an emulator that supports netplay.

Ok, I’m not sure this will be of any use, but basically what I’m wanting to do,
if this is even possible, is attempt to play the retro games I used to play
with the neighborhood kids I grew up with, like Super Mario World, over the
computer with someone else. I know to an extent, this can be done with team
viewer, in the sense that someone else would have access to my screen, but
that’s where things would get messy.
The person on the other end wouldn’t have audio, and also would have total
control of my screen the whole time, so I was hoping to find something that
would allow each of us to share audio, but have separate turns at the same
time. Is this a possibility?

VOCR is an app that will ocr your screen. As to the differences, this is not a
technical detail as I have not used TeamViewer, but RIm gives you access to
someone else's computer computer including there screen reader. It’s my
understanding that the Mac version works differently than Windows in that it
interprets the screen reader through VO without you hearing it directly. If you
have ever used NVDA on the phone, then it works the same way as RIM is supposed
too.

What’s VOCR? As for Rim, how does that differ from something like TeamViewer?

You’re probably not going to have any good luck with this, but I wonder if
something like VOcr might work? I The only accessible remote option I know of
for the Mac is RIM, but I think that is in beta still for the Mac. I tried a
remote app once to see if I could access a cloud based Pc, and no luck.

I’ve been looking into how to play games remotely on my Mac, and found out
about a server called Parsec that apparently will let me do just that.
However, after downloading and installing it, Voiceover reads nothing on my
screen, so I can’t figure out how to finish setting it up.
Has anyone else had any luck with this?
