Hi Caitlyn, Just to add to Joseph’s comments, I think you’ll be surprised by all the ways you use your Apple Watch. When I got my first one, I got it to replace my Fitbit, because I wanted something with on device accessibility. At the time, I thought I was only going to use it for workout purposes, but as with cell phones back in the early days, I kept finding new things that were so convenient on the watch. Here are just a couple of examples.
I use the modular watch face, which has six complications. You can choose what info you want displayed in each complication. On mine, I have time and temperature, date, sunrise/sunset time, activity, steps, and phases of the moon—the last one’s just for grins. So with a simple tap of my wrist, I can quickly access all of that info. Texting from my watch has proven to be much handier than I ever expected. If you get a text, you can just tap it and VO reads it. You can then just hit dictate to reply, without ever touching your phone. Also, you can quickly react to a text—e.g. thumbs up—with just a couple taps. Additionally, the watch has pre-programmed responses that you can use just by tapping them. So if all that is needed is a yes, no, Let me get back to you, thank you, you can just select it, and you’re done. I also get HomeKit notifications on my watch. That wouldn’t be a deciding factor for me, but it is very convenient, especially if your phone’s in the other room, in your purse, etc. Finally, the watch has crash and fall detection. If you’re like me, you probably think so what. But, last January I was in a car accident. I didn’t have to do anything. 911 was called, and my emergency contacts were notified. The latter actually turned out to be a bit of a pain, because of course they all called/texted to see if we were OK. We were not seriously hurt, so I wouldn’t have notified them. But it was a three car accident, and things could have gone very differently, in which case, those notifications would have been a good thing. Just some things to think about.
