We struck gold Using my braille display to browse the settings that
are below the Output/Input table, I found the slider which I was
interacting with, so stopped interacting and audio came on Not sure why
or how but will leave it.
Thanks for suggesting system volume.

used. Now just the Bluetooth headphones. Looked in the Sounds category, all
the output devices are in the table but I don't see an option to activate the
