Hi all! No, me neither. I was saying that Herb forgets that we are all adults and that we should be our own judge on whether to update or not. When he answers such questions, he presents it as though we are all kids instead of adults. I think it would help out his audience if he expresses it as his own personal appinion and only that it’s his own appinion, and add that it’s up to us to be the judge. I don’t think he does enough of that perspective in my appinion. Kendra

But the question I have for him is “who forced you to upgrade?” If some one has then it is a digital sin in my view, and you have every right to protest. I for one won’t dare to update once I know that amongst all things VSCode accessibility is so badly broken.. Another deal breaker for me is that a user reported issues accessing and navigating gitlab. As it happens, that too is a daily priority thing for me. So yes every individual can decide how badly broken Tahoe is and what makes a serious/ critical show stopper for them. For me it indeed is, but even if someone is trying to force me, well it is my MacBook which I paid for. So let’s put forth our experiences and view points, but I really don’t feel anyone is forcing anyone here. Regards. On 9 Oct 2025, at 9:37 AM, Kendra Schaber <[email protected]> wrote: Hi all! I have a similar question because I usually update when the bugs get fixed to insure that my tech works properly. I know, Herb will probably come back with “it’s a stable update”, but Herb forgets that choosing to update or not update is a personal choice, not one that should. Be dictated by anyone in less the update is so unstable that it renders your device totally unusable for all blind users. I believe it’s up to us as individuals to figure out for ourselves what’s a deal breaker bug and what isn’t. If bugs are known bugs, I believe that everyone should know of their existence even if they personally don’t experience them so that each person can decide for themselves whether they feel safe to update or hold off until the second or third patch comes along with the fixes. I believe it’s perfectly ok to be informed, but not necessarily told what to do with any given update in most cases because being informed allows us to make the chose to update or hold off for ourselves.
