Hi all!
I usually wait for the deal breaker bugs to get fixed. The minor ones aren’t so
bad most of the time, especially since they either pop up at random or don’t
make a huge impact most of the time. I wait for the deal breaker bugs to get
fixed and I recognize that what makes a deal breaker for me might not be a deal
breaker for the next person or vise versa. I always tell folks to be their own
judge on wether or not to update or when in less it’s a totally unstable update
that will make their device totally unusable or in less I know about what might
be a deal breaker for them and it’s a nasty one. When updates are stable or
don’t have common deal breakers, I always advise that they be their own judge
on whether to update, not update, or hold off until the second or third patch
in less it’s unstable enough that it might take until the fourth patch comes
along to fix the instability which I’ve only seen two or three times with any
kind of Apple software anywhere.

I’ll just say that if you’re waiting for minor bugs to get fixed, that’s fine,
but you’ll drive yourself batty if that determines whether you should update or
not. Like brad, I have found this to be a stable update, other than a Rogue
Ameba issue which I can work around and they’ll probably fix soon as they have
ben trying. I think I’ve only had one Mac update I didn’t like which was Big
Sur and that was more to do with how they changed some things, and there is one
bug introduced later on with the Capslock that has never been resolved. But
many things have gotten updated or introduced over the years that are helpful.
One example is the changes to Messages over the years in Mac and iOS.

Hi all!
I have a similar question because I usually update when the bugs get fixed to
insure that my tech works properly. I know, Herb will probably come back with
“it’s a stable update”, but Herb forgets that choosing to update or not update
is a personal choice, not one that should. Be dictated by anyone in less the
update is so unstable that it renders your device totally unusable for all
blind users. I believe it’s up to us as individuals to figure out for ourselves
what’s a deal breaker bug and what isn’t. If bugs are known bugs, I believe
that everyone should know of their existence even if they personally don’t
experience them so that each person can decide for themselves whether they feel
safe to update or hold off until the second or third patch comes along with the
fixes. I believe it’s perfectly ok to be informed, but not necessarily told
what to do with any given update in most cases because being informed allows us
to make the chose to update or hold off for ourselves.

I have a curious question?
If your current os of the mac meets your computing needs, why upgrade..at
all?
especially given the risks of accessibility issues and general bugs?
Just wondering,
Kare
