If you set HotSpot 5 with VO+shift+5 then you can do the following:
VO+5 move to hotspot 5 
VO+command+5 Read the contents of HotSpot 5 
VO+command+shift+5 toggle monitoring of hotspot 5 

Often if you have a list and items in the list it is better to put the hot spot 
on the list then a specific list item. This is because if an item is added or 
removed from the list I find that the hotspot pointing to an item in that list 
is no longer able to be found.
