The Neo is not designed for heavy duty work. It is designed as  something a lot better then a Chromebook, but definitely not an M4 or M5. But that doesn’t discount its goodness. I have watched videos where a user opens about five things and does some actually not so lightweight work all at the same time, including acrobat, final cut, a couple other things, all at the same time, and the machine didn’t break a sweat. Would I want to put Pro Tools on it, or even reaper? Probably not! But that is not what it is made for.

I can surely say that for daily work and a bit beyond that would be fine.
But anything that requires a decent processing power and enough computing resources should be on a Mac Air and ultra intensive stuff like high quality movie editing or big time AI work should be on pro.
Neo is a daily office goer or student machine.
Regards.

Subject: Re: Macbook NEO with VoiceOVER

I have not used a MacBook Neo, but my concern is that it only has 8 GB RAM, and there is no upgrade option.
I would not recommend this MacBook to any VoiceOver user, and would suggest a MacBook Air instead.

I have ben using a Mac Book Neo since last week. Voiceover feels as responsive as it is on my M4 Mac book Air. My use is fairly straight-forward with basic Office styles apps, web browsers, and some audio production software.

Hello everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone on the list has had the opportunity to evaluate the MacBook Neo. I’m curious how well it performs with VoiceOver and other macOS accessibility tools in real-world use.
Specifically, I’d be interested to know whether the Neo feels smooth and responsive when using VoiceOver, navigating the system, and running typical productivity apps. Do the specs seem sufficient for accessibility workflows, or would you recommend opting for a more robust MacBook model instead?
Any experiences, impressions, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much,
