Age verification is a one-time process. If it’s done, your account will be
marked as over age, and you should be able to change your payment method back.

Honestly I’m impressed Apple saw an opportunity to automatically assert your
age when you added the credit card. But I’m glad they did!

It is odd that some people are finding they had to add the card to their Apple
account or wallet, rather than just entering it during the age verification
process, and then opting out of using it as a payment method. Silly Apple; it
just makes people even more outraged at this terrible implementation, or the
fact that Apple chose to embrace verification as a device-wide concern.
