Hello; I appreciate your trying to help me, but I must just be stupid or something. lol I got signed up at no cost and recorded a couple of one person conferences just to get started. no matter what I did, I couldn't find the place where you can click to play or download the files. I was on the dashboard, but no luck. and then today I went to try again and it changed the date from 5/22 to 5/23 by default and every time i try to change it back to 5/22 so it will find what i recorded yesterday it wonks out on me. Is there a simplified access site or a mobile version. but if I were going to guess, I'd say you are using windows. I'm a mac user. well thanks. if you have any pointers, so I could use this service or some other; I'd sure appreciate it. thanks and take care, Max

Hi Max,

Thank you for the nice message. I think podcasting is great, and there are also a lot of free sites out there other than Podbean. What's the URL to your podcast? It gives you a platform to discuss whatever you want, and if people like it, the word about your great casts will spread. Mine's a bit whacky, and sometimes features my cockatiel Gwen. It's called Adventures of a cockatiel Named Gwen. It started after my beloved cockatiel Cloudy also known as Mrs. O passed away. I went to our local bird supply and bird store Bird Jungle not intending to get another bird when I found Gwen. It was only supposed to chronicle Gwen's homecoming, but I had people who were asking me to do podcasts on specific topics that it ended up outlasting the time period I had devised. Gwen's anniversary was in April the podcast is now three-years-old and so is Gwen. I love doing the casts, and nothing is off limits, blindness-related issues, banjo lessons, guitar lessons, etc. I'm now ranting at my online distributor of my music for not being accessible and switching to their competitor. The link is:

Yes you can do the same thing once you have a No Cost Conference account, I believe you can add the mp3s in Feedburner. I love Feedburner. I look forward to listening to your podcasts. THe feed to subscribe to mine is:

I hope you have a wonderful Saturday.

Hello Allison; Thanks a lot. that no cost conference sounds like what I've been looking for. That gives me a way of recording podcast either just me or an interview. and after you record, then you download the media file. that makes sense. then do i use my feed burner to do the same thing with the podcasts? Any other pointers in this area would be greatly appreciated. please send me the url and I'd love to listen to your podcasts. a friend of mine seams to think that once i get going it will be an opportunity for me to reach people outside of the usual carnvial type websites. well thanks again and take care, max On May 21, 2010, at 9:59 PM, Allison Manzino wrote:

Hi Max,

Well I have two sort of low cost solutions. One for podcasting itself ishttp://www.podbean.com

They are pretty low cost depending on how gigs of storage space you want. If you just want something to record phone interviews, I have a free solution it's called
http://www.nocostconference.com

You create a conference number, receive a pin code, and once the two parties enter the pin code there is an option to record the call. I have used it and it works flawlessly. It's clearer than Skype, You create an account online with no cost conference and you are able to download the mp3 from your dashboard file. I will do a podcast on Imike and Amadeus as that will probably be my go to audio solution.

I hope that helps.

hello; since you are an experienced podcaster, maybe you can help me. Is there an alternative to garage band quicktime pro for recording the audio for a podcast? do you know of any low cost service where me and someone else could have a phone interview recorded. I'm trying to avoid using skype. I'm hoping that a good podcast on topic will help my site by getting listeners on itunes. think i can do a good show just need to figure out the technical stuff first. thanks for any help, max

Now that's odd. I just uploaded with success some files up to podbean. I might do a little podcast on transmit if I can tonight. There must
be a stop we're both missing. lol!

Hi Erik,

I did arrow over to the progress meter and it doesn't say anything. The Transmit menu lists command shift R as the upload command. WHen I log in to my Podbean account, and click import FTP Files, nothing shows up. I don't know if that helps. I tried Cyberduck and couldn't get it to work. I got it
to install, but not to upload. Thanks for your help.

Hi, When I look at the manu bar for transmit, there is no announcement for any key associated with the upload command. Are you sure that command shift r is actually an upload command? What result do you get if you go
to the transfer menu and press enter on upload?

After pressing command shift r and hearing upload, did you vo over to the right where the prograss meter for the transfer would be to make sure it
isn't going?

Thanks,

Hi Sarah and all,

I have attempted to transfer stuff with Transmit to my podcast site. I can see the first table with the folders and files and when I hit command shift R to upload and VoiceOver says "upload" and nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? One table has the list of files and the other table is empty. I'm really confused as to what I'm doing wrong. Thank
you for your assistance.

Transmitting via ftp in transmit is quite easy. I use this on a daily
bases.

1. connect to the ftp server.

2. go to the first table which is your local path and interact with it.

3. browse to the place by going to the folder and hitting command down arrow on the folders until you find the place you want to transfer. you then navigate to the thing you want to download on the other table until
you get to the folder or file and hit command shift r.

reverse that process if you are uploading a file.

Take care.
