I haven't tried it but I thought OSX could read but not write NTFS unless you make use of the MacFUSE.

The disk is likely formated NTFS. If it is you will only be able to read. Copy data from drive if you want to save it then format drive using disk utility.

Hi,

I have a one t.b. Hitachi external drive which had been used on a windows xp system.

Only around 150gb has been used.

I connected to my macbook, but can't write to it.
I've looked at the permissions which say I've only got read only access and there doesn't seem to be a way I can see to change this.

Has anyone any ideas as to what I can do so I can start putting info from my Macbook on this drive?

Kind regards

Graham
