Hello; I have a regular macbook from may of 2008, and it has never
made any noise when typing in the secured fields. I have wondered
about it. I wish there was a fix. I generally just press command a
and delete to make sure the field is empty and then type the
characters; but it is a bit disconcerting not to hear clicks or
something. let me know if you find out why yours doesn't play sounds
