I have the same exact issue. Are you using a linksys router? I'm not sure what 
goes on, but it seems to topple over when I want to do filesharing, which works 
flawlessly but that is when it falls over. I have no clue why this happens but 
either a reboot or a reboot of the router does the trick. I've got an iMac and 
a macbook here and wouldn't have a clue. But I have tried printer sharing and 
it works flawlessly as well.
