Hallo the list,

My name is Sandy Tomkins and I have just joined you. I have, on
loan from college, a Mac Book Pro, which I am endeavoring to learn to
use and have just ordered an iPhone 4g, my first iPhone. So, Voiceover
and the Apple platform are both new to me and I am experiencing quite
a learning curve with them. I suppose, re the MBP, I am falling
between two stools, because I mix up my use of the multi-touch pad
with the keyboard commands and am not quite managing to master either.
Hoping that when the iPhone arrives I might get a little more
comfortable with the gestures, which attract me mightily!

Probably, this will have been touched upon before and I would hate
to clutter up the list with things already spoken of at length, but
the world of iPhone Apps is totally new to me. Would anyone like to
recommend their favourite apps. There appears to be about a quarter of
a million of them out there so I don't know where to begin!

Thanks for any input and any advice as to how to get to grips with
VO and the gestures most welcome.

All the very best to you all,
    Sandy.
