Ok, a few questions. I'm a mac newbie here, though not a computer newbie by
a long shot.
First of all, locating my OS install disk. There are two disks I found. One
is bootcamp, the other that came in the same folder windows doesn't
recognize at all. Is this normal for the OS install disk?
Assuming it is and I have the right disk, how do I get the mac to boot up
with it? I thought you put it in and held down the c key at power on, but no
go. The disk spins for a while, but then I go back to no response. If I do
get a successful boot from the cd, will VO come on automatically?
It's also worth noting that my mac is heating up much faster than normal.
Not sure if it's because it's trying to do something that it can't, or if
this is evidence of a more serious issue.

I did the update and everything was fine. Running 10.6.4 here on the
2.26ghz core 2 macbook Pro. I *didn't* have Voiceover on when I restarted,
but because I use Zoom, Voiceover did come on and tell me that I need to
install the software before I restarted, and then I tabbed to the install
and restart button (the default). It then gave me the progress bar. You
could try and repair permissions from your os install disk.

Has anyone done the latest software update, the one that had something to
do with graphics?
I tried to do it yesterday, and now my macbook pro is apparently sitting
there at the apple logo screen, doing nothing. I did a little research,
and did the cmd-option-p-r thing which worked, but didn't solve my
problem. Still no speech, and I assume, no full OS load.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a solution to this besides
reinstalling everything? Unfortunately I've lost my little travel drive,
so can't just load a backup.
