Hi, It's not something you should have to know or be required to fiddle with just to listen to a book, but unlike most things in ITunes, this should actually be easy.
Simply highlight all of your audiobook files in ITunes. Press Command I. Agree that yes you do want to edit multiple items. Make sure you are in the info tab. Check the genre checkbox, and type audiobooks in the edit box. Hit the OK button and in a few seconds you will hear the success bells.
