that is what I was afraid of. I am used to the mozilla thunderbird approach (I used to use it before my sight completely failed). I found the "organize by thread" then I had to interact with the bar immediately above the messages window to get to the proper column and set it to newest first. it took me a few minutes to figure out how to get there.
