Mary, I don't have my cable yet for the tv I really want to hook the apple tv to, but it is hooked up to another tv and I have no problem with choppy speech either via the apple remote or the iPhone app.
I'm not experienced enough yet to know if I can play a dvd from my mac to the tv. Actually, my problem is that when I try to use the iPhone to control the tv, and I go through my air, it doesn't connect. However, when Gary had it all under his info, we had no problem connecting and vo did not stumble. So much to learn! I still have the choppy speech problem with vo, though. I wonder if it could be something with the connection with the optical cable, since once vo gets going, it is fine, but the first syllable or two of the item moved to with the remote is pretty much always missed.
