Hi.

Apologies to Marc, the reference to using the Keynote app came up in a
second thread reply to Dónal about Keynote presentations when I did a
search of the Mail Archive site. I ran the search terms in the search
box as
from:Esther Keynote presentation*
and got two different threads that had the information on Keynote
presentation mode, but linked to the first because of the "Skim"
references further on; I'll paste in the relevant bit about the
Keynote Remote app from the second thread:
<begin quote>
Incidentally, there's a Keynote Remote app for the iPhone/iPod Touch
that lets you control presentations. It's not quite ready for prime
time with VoiceOver use, though you can use it in a semi-clunky way by
configuring it in landscape mode, and then using the triple-click home
to turn VoiceOver on and off for each slide to navigate. (Pretty
painful, and not really practical). Also, it only announces the slide
number as a number in the sequence, and labels such as "Current Slide"
and "Next Slide". There hasn't been much work on this app since it was
released. I wonder whether there will be an update for the iPad iWork
releases. If you want to read up about the "not-so-state-of-the- art"
with the Keynote Remote app, it's described in my archived post for
Yuma about giving presentations from last Fall:

(Re: iphone trackpad pro)

Maybe someone should drop Apple accessibility a note about functions
they might like implemented.
<end>

Since this post was written after the latest update to the Keynote
Remote app in March 2009, I assume nothing has changed. However,
since Apple has recently updated its Remote app to support Apple TV,
and since on of the upcoming developments reported by sites like TUAW
is supposed to be support for Keynote '11 to stream from the iPad in
AirPlay (according to an email from Steve Jobs to an individual user),
it would probably be a good idea to press for features.

HTH.  Cheers,

Esther
